Carrot Seed Essential oil ! A Super healing oil...

Carrot seed essential oil , is a wonderful gift from nature, which is acquired by steam-distilling
the dried carrot seeds and other parts of the plant itself. It has a strong and pungent smell, but filled with some powerful antioxidants. it is known as a cell regenerator; as it is is filled with vitamin A. It is considered a prime skin healing oil. it is great taken internally , as it benefits a number organs, mainly by detoxifying and enhancing their function. it also supports the nervous system by lowering anxiety. But the purpose of me using it was mainly as a skin healing agent, so i placed 6 drops of essential carrot seed oil in a tablespoon of grape seed oil, mixed up and spread over cleaned face. Immediately after, my skin was very hydrated , but not in a heavy way. It gave my skin a healthy natural glow. I loved the smell, for it was extremely therapeutic and cleansing.

If you are planning on trying this oils, please make sure you are not allergic to these by doing a small patch test on arm; pregnant women should not use essential oils. Also, if you plan on taking it internally, make sure it's of a pure quality from a reliable source.

Pearl Powder! And Its Many Uses!

This is basically grounded pearls which are high in calcium, used in Chinese traditional medicine. It can be used internally and topically. In China it is mainly known for its anti-aging effects and the prolongation of life expectancy. A few of its other uses are: treating visual problems, insomnia, inflammation of the skin, acne, detoxing organs, anxiety, and liver cleansing.

I find it useful for headaches, migrane type headaches, from heat exertion. Internally it has a cooling effect in the body. I consume the pure 100% pearl powder, no fillings; i take about two capsules twice a day.

I also put about 5 capsules in my face cream, since it is also used for maintaining a healthy, and clear complexion. It is said to be the beauty secret of women in China.

If you plan on taking it internally, please make sure it is of a good quality, and pure enough to ingest.

The Run!

The Run…

Always in a haste, as if, life was running after me

While I believe others walk,

I run, I run, I run.

Always running

From I don’t know what?

To, I don’t know where?

Who knows where, I ‘m supposed to go?

If you had the address to that place

Where running will stop, and the moment like

A framed art- work will embrace me,

and I will let go and unwind;

To stare back as if,

I was okay, and life was okay with me..

Will you give it to me?

! Oui, l'adresse s'il vous plaƮt!

Run, run, will exist no more

And a tranquil Sun will cover my still unwind muscles.

And time will be my enemy no longer.

Pure Lanolin and Its Many Uses!

Lanolin, is a fabulous product produced by a sheep's gland, a natural emulsifier; Its function is mainly for protection from the cold weather. It is described as an "excellent moisture binding and humectant product". It works by lacking in moisture; while attracting moisture from the environment. Almost five year ago, my mom gave me a jar to use as a diaper /rash ointment for my then newborn child , since she knew i obsessively refused to use petroleum based products. I still have about half of the original jar left; and so i began using it on my skin mixed with a few drops of apricot kernel oil, as a moisture source against the harsh cold winter. Well, i am happy to report that it works great! My face and body maintained a balance moisture for up to eight hours, or so. It also works great on chapped lips, hands, feet, skin. it is a great method to prevent ear infection when swimming, for nipple protection for breastfeeding mamas, for extremely curly hair. Please make sure you are not allergic to this product, since those people who are allergic to wool products are most likely allergic to lanolin. Remember that a small dime sized goes a long way, if you are planning on using it!

Go get some Lanolin!

Biking, and my case for it!

Brooklyn is becoming one of those biking cities, i am so impressed by those who bike in the cold, and really, i do see them as unique creatures. I personally have entertained this challenged for a while( biking in the cold), and so finally i have been biking to work a few days a week. It is a great for me personally , as a way to exercise/cardio wise, and the big ecological reason of not hurting the environment. I do have to mention a few tiny inconveniences: one is how soaked with sweat , i am upon reaching my job. So , this is how i been dealing with it: i put on multiple layers of clothing, and upon arrival i take off the layer closest to by body,, i apply milk of magnesia as deodorant, voila!
Another down side is, that i have been getting a headache from heat exertion after biking, but i am researching ways of lessening this matter. I am by no means good at it, since i am extremely slow and get tired out while biking , but i feel it's something i personally want to do. I will try to continue to do so, as the weather permits. So, if you have been thinking about biking to your job and have not, go ahead, take that step, and empower your will do overcome your fears and do your part!

Happy Biking!

Argan Oil

Now, that i am again living in Brooklyn i have began to stroll down and around all the familiar places, i pursued in the past. I love Brooklyn in a very interesting way for many reasons. One main reason is the diversity that exist in the city. One of the many places i am enjoying is the Atlantic avenue Middle-Eastern area. Here you can find essential oils, incenses, clothing and many other ethnic and exotic articles of interest. So, I been reading about the Moroccan Argan oil, and i went in searched of this oil in the area. I found it, and after using my first ounce, i liked it a lot. It is recommended for face and hair. I used it mainly on my face straight up without mixing with any other ingredients. My face was very soft and supple, it was not greasy in a heavy way , but light like grape seed oil or even jojoba oil. I will continue to use it whenever possible. It is another gift from nature. If you do decide to go in search of this oil, make sure it's 100% pure unmixed.

Coconut oil and its many uses!

I am from the coast of Central America, near the Caribbean sea and the only oil i remembered my family used was coconut oil. It was used for cooking, baking, the hair and body. I didn't
realized the wonders of this oil, and maybe i even undervalued its benefits . Well, the old news is that it is truly, a wonderful oil for lots of things. I put a tablespoon on my pancakes, on my popcorn, on steamed rice, on my tofu and fish. I use it cosmetically on my hair before washing it; as an all over moisturizer for my body; i make homemade deodorant with it. It is a blessing to have. It is antibacterial, it helps the thyroid gland, it is an immune booster and on , and on the list of benefits can be. Nature is truly amazing, and generous in providing us with such treasure like virgin coconut oil.

Experiment and be safe!
